The Legend of the Woods – Uncle Istvan

Chapter 3: The Dark Arts
Within the cabin, István’s true power lay hidden. Shelves lined with ancient tomes and jars of peculiar ingredients filled the space. Shadows danced in the flickering candlelight, casting eerie shapes against the walls. Here, István practiced his forbidden art, drawing upon the forest’s dark magic to sustain his unnatural existence.

He recalled the time when he was but a mortal man, a skilled apothecary in a distant village. His desire to transcend mortality had led him down a path of forbidden knowledge, a path that cost him everything—his humanity, his soul. He had made a pact with forces beyond comprehension, trading his mortal life for eternal hunger.

His transformation was a painful metamorphosis, one that had fused him with the ancient spirit of the Veilwood. Bound to the forest, István became its protector and its prisoner, eternally cursed to roam its depths, his hunger never sated.
