The Legend of the Woods – Uncle Istvan

Chapter 8: A Price to Pay
As Lila continued to visit István, her presence began to change him. The darkness that had enveloped him for so long began to lift, and a spark of humanity flickered within him. He felt emotions long forgotten—hope, compassion, and a longing for redemption.

But with these emotions came a renewed hunger, a gnawing emptiness that clawed at his insides. István struggled against it, fearing the monster within. He had kept his cravings at bay for centuries, but Lila’s presence had awakened something primal and dangerous.

He warned Lila to stay away, fearing for her safety, but she refused to leave him. “I won’t abandon you,” she insisted, her eyes fierce with determination. “We can find a way to break this curse.”

István shook his head, his voice tinged with despair. “There is no escape from this fate. I am bound to this forest, to the darkness within me.”

Lila refused to accept this. She delved into István’s books, searching for a way to break the curse. Her determination was a beacon in the darkness, guiding István back to the light.
