Police Tase Suspect After Dangerous Wrong Way Chase In Michigan

Bath Township, Michigan — On October 6, 2025, around noon, Bath Township police began pursuing a ...man believed to be armed and involved in a domestic violence case. Officers spotted him driving a silver SUV on I-96 in Ingham County and requested help from nearby agencies as he refused to stop. As the chase continued into Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, dashcam footage showed the driver swerving erratically across lanes, slowing down as if to taunt officers, and repeatedly sticking his arm out the window to gesture at them. At one point, he used a highway turnaround to cross the median and drive the wrong way into oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding collisions with other vehicles. Deputies attempted several precision maneuvers to stop him, eventually spinning out his SUV near an entrance ramp. The driver exited the vehicle, threw his hat to the ground, and continued to make gestures toward deputies before officers deployed a Taser and took him into custody. He was later turned over to Bath Township police without further resistance.

Phoenix Police Shoot Man Armed With a Knife

Phoenix, Arizona — On October 2, 2025 around 7:45 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to a ...home regarding a man armed with a knife near 7th Street and Sunland Avenue. Additionally, the man, 58-year-old Victor Altamirano stated that he would confront the police if contacted. As multiple officers arrived on scene, the first responding officer contacted several family members just outside of the home. During this contact, the officer was again told that the man was armed with a knife. As this conversation took place, Altamirano, armed with a knife raised above his head, came out of the home and ran in the direction of an officer while he verbally challenged the officer. This is when the critical incident began. During this encounter, three officers used force. One officer deployed their duty weapon, another used both their less-lethal 40mm launcher and their duty weapon, and the other deployed their less-lethal pepper ball launcher. Officers rendered aid until the Phoenix Fire Department arrived and transported Altamirano to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The knife possessed by Altamirano during this incident was recovered at the scene.

Mesa, Arizona — On September 18th, 2025, just after midnight, a female caller reported that her ...husband was drunk and throwing things around the house. While giving information, the caller said that the man was going to and from his vehicle and had a gun. Officers responded to the 900 block of South Pasadena. As an officer was arriving on scene, a sergeant who was also arriving said over the radio that he had just seen the carport lights turn on, but did not see anyone outside. The officer and the sergeant begin to walk up to the house. When the 33-year-old suspect exited the house using the carport door, he immediately points a gun at the officer and sergeant. This is when the officer involved shooting occurred. Additional officers arrived on scene and rendered aid to the suspect before he was transported to a hospital for his injuries. No officers or bystanders were injured because of the shooting. The gun that the suspect had, was later determined to be a Glock replica BB gun.

Las Cruces, New Mexico — On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at around 6 p.m., Las Cruces ...police were dispatched to the reports of an aggressive man threatening patrons and employees with a knife and a hammer at Chili’s Grill and Bar on Telshor. When the first officer arrived, 50-year-old Philip Adrian Mullin was sitting in his silver Honda sedan. As the officer approached and asked him to exit the vehicle. Mullin grabbed a hammer and walked towards the officer for approximately 60 feet. The officer can be heard telling him to put his hands up or not come closer at least eight times while backing away. When Mullin kept advancing, the officer fired three shots, striking him. Officers immediately render aid, but the man is pronounced dead at the scene.

Pierce County Deputies Use PIT Maneuver To Stop Stolen Box Truck

Pierce County, Washington — On October 12th, 2025, around 12:45 am, Deputies with the Pierce County ...Sheriff's Office located a stolen box truck driving eastbound on 120th St E from 198th Ave E in the Bonney Lake area. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, which led to a wild pursuit by deputies. Several PIT maneuvers finally resulted in getting the truck off the road. Deputies noticed the two suspects were trapped inside the front cab, and they would need the fire department to assist with getting the suspects out of the truck. Things took a turn when smoke came from the truck. Deputies quickly moved in to start breaking the front windshield in an attempt to make a hole for the suspects to crawl out through. The suspects were able to crawl through a small hole that was made by the deputies, and both suspects were removed and taken into custody. The two male suspects were taken to safety a distance away from the smoking truck, and Fire was called for medical care. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The 42-year-old driver was cleared by the hospital and later booked into the Pierce County Jail for possession of stolen property, eluding, and assault on police officers. The 38-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital and released to get care for his injuries. A report will be forwarded for his current warrants, and the box truck was towed from the scene.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin — On Thursday, October 9, 2025 at approximately 8:25 a.m., an off-duty Milwaukee Police ...Department (MPD) officer was involved in a minor vehicle accident on the 4800 block of West Mill Road while on his way into work. Both drivers pulled over and exited their vehicles. As they were assessing the accident, the driver of the other vehicle approached the off-duty officer and produced a firearm. That subject proceeded to strike the off-duty officer in the face with his firearm. The off-duty officer drew his department-issued firearm. The two individuals exchanged gun fire and the subject was struck. The subject, a 26-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was struck by gunfire. The officer was conveyed to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during this incident. The officer that discharged his duty weapon during this incident is a 40-year-old male with over 21 years of service. The officer was placed on administrative duty as is routine in officer involved shooting investigations. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team is investigating this incident. The West Allis Police Department is the leading agency.

Suspect Tries to Take Officer’s Gun During Struggle in Portland

Portland, Oregon — On Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9:11 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to ...Central Precinct were dispatched to a report of a “Threat with Weapon” call on Northeast 33rd Avenue over Interstate-84. They were told that a suspect had a metal pole and was hitting passing vehicles with it. Officers were told the suspect had walked away. They did an area check for him in the neighborhood and did not initially find him and no crime victims came forward to make a police report. About 20 minutes after officers cleared the scene, they gained information that the suspect may be in the area of Oregon Park, 700 Northeast 30th Avenue. Two officers responded and located the suspect. Almost immediately the suspect began fighting with the two officers. The officers alerted dispatch and other officers over the radio that they were in a fight and that the suspect was trying to get an officer’s firearm out of his holster. Numerous officers responded to assist, and at 10:34 a.m., officers stated that they were in custody with the suspect.
Preliminary investigation indicated that during the struggle over the officer’s gun, an officer put the suspect in some kind of neck hold. The suspect did not lose consciousness and did not appear to suffer any significant injuries. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution to get a medical evaluation. Both officers involved were also transported to the hospital for medical evaluation. One officer had a hand injury and the other a head injury. Based on the reported level of force used by an officer in this incident, members of the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail responded to perform an investigation into the force used. There were no reports that any officer discharged a firearm during this incident. The officer involved in the neck hold was placed on paid administrative leave pursuant to Police Bureau policy. Bo W. Davis, 43, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder, Robbery in the First Degree, Assaulting a Public Safety Officer, Menacing, and an outstanding warrant. The two injured officers have been released from the hospital and are recovering at home.

Louisiana Trooper Shoots Driver Who Reached For Gun During Traffic Stop

Ascension Parish, Louisiana — On September 30, 2025, at approximately 1:49 a.m., a trooper with Louisiana ...State Police Troop A observed a white Saturn Outlook traveling on LA 431 near LA 935 with an inoperable right rear tail light. The trooper activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. Recordings confirmed that the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Brandon Nicholas, was slow to stop. The Saturn ultimately came to a stop on LA 431 just south of Snow Sheets Road. Due to the abnormal delay in stopping and exiting, the trooper had become increasingly suspicious. The trooper then gave commands for the driver to exit the vehicle. After another prolonged delay, Nicholas eventually exited and both met near the rear of the Saturn. After explaining the reason for the stop, the trooper asked for Nicholas's driver's license. Nicholas said the driver's license was in his vehicle. The trooper then asked Nicholas if there were any weapons in the vehicle, to which Nicholas responded, "No."
As the trooper and Nicholas walked to the open driver's door of the Saturn, the trooper smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle and observed a semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine on the driver's side floorboard. The trooper ordered Nicholas to turn around, begin placing him in handcuffs, and informed him he was being detained. As the trooper attempted to detain him, Nicholas forcefully resisted, lunged into the vehicle, and reached towards the gun. Knowing there was a firearm inside and observing Nicholas reaching towards it, the trooper continued attempting to gain control of Nicholas's hands inside the vehicle. Within moments, Nicholas put the car in drive. He began to aggressively accelerate while the trooper was still partially inside the vehicle. At that moment, the trooper feared Nicholas would gain control of the pistol while he remained trapped inside the driver's compartment. While being dragged, the trooper drew his firearm and fired multiple rounds at Nicholas while disengaging from the moving vehicle.
During the physical struggle, the trooper's body camera became dislodged. Nicholas fled north on LA 431 and the trooper immediately pursued. Approximately 1.5 mi north of the original location, the vehicle stopped in the roadway. The trooper gave loud verbal commands as he waited for backup to arrive. Assisting troopers and deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with Nicholas, who had sustained critical injuries. Responding units requested emergency medical services and administered CPR. Nicholas was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Responding deputies located a pistol discarded in a ditch between the location of the initial traffic stop and where Nicholas's vehicle ultimately came to rest. The pistol collected matched the description of the firearm the trooper previously observed under the driver's seat. Forensic testing conducted at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab directly linked the recovered firearm to Nicholas. It was later discovered that Nicholas was prohibited from lawfully possessing a firearm due to previous felony convictions.

Marinette County, Wisconsin — On Friday, August 29, 2025, during early morning hours, a WDOJ law ...enforcement-sensitive Wisconsin Crime Alert Network alert bulletin, which originated from the Dane County Sheriff's Office (DASO), was disseminated to statewide law enforcement agencies. The statewide crime alert was a request for statewide law enforcement to attempt to locate a stolen motor vehicle from the scene of a homicide in the Township of Mazomanie, Dane County, Wisconsin. The subject motor vehicle was identified and described as a, white-colored 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) bearing Wisconsin license plate registration number, Through law enforcement intelligence services, information had been disseminated Statewide law enforcement agencies were requested to stop the stolen motor vehicle, identify any occupant(s) inside the motor vehicle and proceed with notifying DASO investigators of any information related to any contact with the subject motor vehicle.
Shortly after 9:00 a.m., on August 29, a MBPD police officer spotted the referenced subject motor vehicle in the City of Marinette, Wisconsin. After an attempted traffic stop with the subject motor vehicle, a high-speed pursuit with the operator of the motor vehicle ensued. During the pursuit, a tire deflation device system was deployed by MRSO Sheriff Randy Miller. The subject motor vehicle operator evaded the deployed tire deflation device system, lost control of subject motor vehicle and a rollover crash resulted on the northbound lanes of US Highway 41 in the Town of Peshtigo, Marinette County, Wisconsin. The crash scene was more specifically located in a ditch bank along US Highway 41 adjacent to northbound lanes of traffic and between exit ramp number 216, approximately one-tenth of a mile south of the Schacht Road overpass. During events, MBPD Police Officer (PO) Parker J. De Los Santos and fellow MBPD PO Andrew D. Bonjean reportedly attempted contact with the sole adult male operator of the crashed subject motor vehicle.
By report, the operator exited the crashed motor vehicle, walked away from officers and disregarded all verbal law enforcement directives made to him. During events, MBPD police officers were assisted by MRSO Sheriff Randy Miller. Law enforcement officers observed the operator was armed with a sharp-edged weapon during their attempted contact with him. Eventually, the operator advanced at law enforcement officers with the sharp-edged weapon. As a result, Sheriff Miller deployed an Electronic Control Device (ECD) and both identified police officers discharged their duty pistols at the operator in self-defense of themselves and each other. The operator immediately collapsed to the ground and emergency medical care was offered to the operator. The operator was eventually transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The operator was subsequently positively identified as 23-year-old Andrew Lloyd Collamore. SAIC Wisch finally reported there were no reports of any injured law enforcement personnel.

Man Pulls Knife On LAPD Cops And Gets Shot

Los Angeles, California — On August 22, 2025, at around 8:20 p.m., Los Angeles Police officers ...responded to a radio call of “ADW suspect there now,” at the 5400 block of Monterey Road. The comments of the call indicated that the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Bryan Guzman, threatened the person reporting (PR) with a knife. When the officers arrived, the officers contacted the PR who directed them to the suspect Guzman, who was outside standing by a vehicle. The officers gave Guzman verbal commands to put his hands on top of his head. As the officers attempted to take Guzman into custody, he produced a knife resulting in an Officer Involved Shooting. Guzman was struck by the gunfire and fell to the ground, where he was taken into custody without further incident. Officers rendered aid until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Guzman was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. A 12-inch kitchen knife was recovered at scene and booked as evidence. No officers or other community members were injured as a result of this incident.

North Miami-Dade, Florida — On October 1st, 2025, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted a white ...Honda speeding along the shoulder of Interstate 95 near Northwest 151st Street in Miami-Dade County. The car, driven by 19-year-old Abel Campos of Hialeah, was weaving through traffic and ignoring safety laws as it passed vehicles on the shoulder. When the trooper activated his lights and siren to pull the driver over, Campos refused to stop and instead accelerated, setting off a dangerous high-speed pursuit. The chase continued into a construction zone where Campos maneuvered through dirt and heavy machinery before turning around and driving the wrong way on the interstate. During the pursuit, Campos’ white Honda hit bumps in the construction area and briefly went airborne before being rammed by a trooper’s cruiser using a PIT maneuver. After the crash, Campos exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. Campos was booked into jail and is facing charges of fleeing and attempted eluding at a high speed and reckless driving with damage. No injuries were reported.
